Hey Manateezers!!
Some of my viewers play this really awesome game called Animal Jam by National Geographic Kids.
This is one of my favorite things to do in my free time, as well as read and post, of course...
So, those of you who do not play Animal Jam, I will show you how to make an account and just basic stuff about the game.
Making an Account
To make an account, go to www.animaljam.com and click "Play Now".
Create your username and password, then pick an animal and start playing!
Members vs. Non-Members
It will ask you if you have a membership code when you create your account. Unless you happen to have a spare Animal Jam member card, you won't have a code. Being a non-member is not so bad; I was one for about a year and a half!
Most of you will be non-members, so I just want to give a few tips on getting the cool stuff you want without spending an arm and a leg on membership cards.
In every land (there are twelve of them: Jamaa Township, Coral Canyons, Sarepia Forest, Crystal Sands, Lost Temple of Zios, Appondale, Mt. Shiveer, Kimbara Outback, Bahari Bay, Crystal Reef, Deep Blue and Kani Cove) there is something you have called a Journey Book. Every time you see a really cool animal or plant, click on it. If it is part of your Journey Book, a cool fact about that animal or plant will pop up. When you find everything in one land of your Journey Book, you get a really awesome prize, and the best part is, it is not members-only!
Non-members get only two animals, whereas members get I think like 24. To be able to access the oceans (Bahari Bay, Crystal Reef, Deep Blue and Kani Cove) you will need an ocean animal. Non-members only have access to three-turtles, seals, and penguins. Seals and penguins can even be in both land and water! (When I was a non-member, my animals were a bunny and a seal. If you are an ocean animal, I would recommend the seal.)
Adventures
Ah, adventures... So addicting, yet so excruciating...
My favorite adventure was always Greely's Inferno. It gave the best prizes, until the Forgotten Desert came along...
Long before this adventure, I was an eagle... I thought it was unfair that eagles couldn't go on adventures, so I suggested that in the suggestions box. Then a few weeks later the Jamaa Journal announced the arrival of an eagle adventure! I was so excited. The adventure is like no other, where you are timed to find all 90 of the crystal shards. You get prizes when you find a certain amount of crystals. Some people have gotten extremely rare items on this adventure.
In all the other adventures, there are mazes, phantoms, trapped animals, polluted plants- I highly recommend playing adventures. And some are even for non-members! Adventures give you heaps of gems and exclusive prizes.
Currency
In Animal Jam there are three types of currency- Diamonds, gems, and tickets.
Gems are the most basic type of currency. You get 1,000 gems when you make an account, and most everything you see in shops around Jamaa are bought using gems.
Diamonds are the hardest to get of the three currencies- there are only three ways to get them. Members get one diamond every week, on Tuesday I believe. You can also win them in the Daily Spin when you log on every day or buy them using real money through memberships or with AJ Diamond cards.
Tickets are a limited time currency, around every summer at the Summer Carnival. You get them by playing games and you can spend them on special items at the shops at the carnival.
The way these currencies intertwine is as follows: You can buy gems using diamonds and you can buy tickets using gems. You can not buy diamonds using gems or buy gems using tickets.
Well, I will post more about this game in the future! Thanks for listening to me yak forever about my addiction.

Hey lover of manateez! This is my very first blog and I just would like to make a list of things I post about:
National Geographic Kid's Animal Jam (www.animaljam.com)
Manateez (of course)
Nerd things (like algebra)
Awesome books I've read (there's quite a few of them!)
And, just some randomness I find on the internet...
So, until I start posting, please enjoy this random Manateez meme!
